The Belfast RFC Junior & Teenage Registrations for the 2024 season are now OPEN.

Season Subs

$90 per single player
$30 for each subsequent family members

Subs include an item of Belfast RFC branded merchandise and Mouth Guard per Player.

Can be made via online banking into our Junior Club Account

If paying for a family then please show reference,

Sub payment can also be made via cash at the club rooms at our Registration Day (online payment preferred).

Payment Plans 

Are also available and must be set up prior to the season starting on 11th May - if you need to set up an automatic payment to cover subs over the season, please email us at brfcjuniorstreasurer@gmail.com to arrange. 

Parent Involvement 

BRFC is run entirely through volunteers. We rely on parent support to operate and improve the club. This can include:

  • Coaching
  • Managing teams
  • Running a sausage sizzle on Saturdays
  • Helping out on the Junior Committee
  • Any other way you can think of

We have had great family support over the years and believe this is a key part of creating a club with a true community feel. All families will be asked to contribute in one of these areas. 

Financial Hardship

If you are in a financial hardship - please let us know as soon as possible, so we can see how we may be able to assist you with subs and/or rugby gear for the season.

Grades for 2024

NZ Rugby have aligned grades to school years for 2024.

Under 6 is now Year 1 (rippa).  This grade is also open to pre-school players.

Under 7 is now Year 2 (rippa)

Under 8 is now Year 3 (tackle)

Under 8-10 rip is now Rip Rugby

Under 9 is now Year 4 (tackle)

Under 10 is now Year 5 (tackle)

Under 11 is now Year 6 (tackle)

Under 12 is now Year 7 (tackle)

Under 13 is now Year 8 (tackle)

Under 17 Girls is now Senior Girls (Years 10-13)

Under 14 & 15 Boys is now Junior Boys (Years 9-10)

Senior Boys remains Senior Boys (Years 11-13) 

If you're unsure which grade to select, "Primary school" regardless of the child's age and we'll be in touch to confirm the appropriate grade.

The weight limits for each tackle grade will be the same in 2024.  All tackle players are required to be weighed prior to the season starting.  E.g. the weight limit for a Year 7 player (previously Under 12) is 58kg or less.  A Year 7 player weighing less than 40kg may opt to play Year 6 rugby, or can play Year 7 rugby.  Year 7 players weighing more than 58kg would need to play Year 8 rugby.
